# Presentations and slides

> Understand decks, slides, layouts, and editable slide elements.

A **presentation** is an ordered deck of slides. A **slide** combines content with a layout and supported visual elements such as text, images, shapes, tables, and charts.

Presenton generates a deck from an approved outline. The selected presentation format and template determine the available layouts and how content is placed. Editing capabilities depend on the format and deployment mode documented in this version.
