# Shapes and styling

> Style and arrange shapes, lines, fills, borders, and shadows.

Shapes can organize content, create emphasis, provide backgrounds, and connect related information.

## Edit a shape

  <Step title="Select the shape">
    Enable **Select Edit** and select the shape or line.

  <Step title="Change its appearance">
    Adjust supported fill, border, stroke, radius, shadow, and opacity controls.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Change its geometry">
    Move, resize, or rotate the shape. Use alignment controls to keep it consistent with nearby elements.

  <Step title="Check the layer order">
    Move the shape forward or backward when it must sit behind text or in front of another visual.
