# Template Editing

> Create, refine, and reuse presentation templates.

Template editing turns an existing PowerPoint design into reusable layouts for future presentations. Use it when new decks should preserve an established visual system.

## Create templates from existing PPTX files

Upload a filled PPTX to Template Studio. Presenton analyzes its slides, fonts, colors, layouts, and visual styles, then converts suitable slide designs into reusable template layouts.

## Preserve the visual system

Before generating the template:

* Upload missing font files so text measurements and wrapping remain accurate.
* Review colors, backgrounds, images, shapes, and recurring brand elements.
* Confirm that the source includes representative title, content, comparison, data, and closing slides.
* Remove duplicate or low-quality slides that should not become reusable layouts.

## Edit reusable template slides

After template generation finishes, open the saved template and inspect each generated layout. Check:

* Editable content regions and their intended roles.
* Short and long text behavior.
* Image and chart placement.
* Spacing, alignment, grouping, and layer order.
* Font, color, and style consistency.

Fix unreliable layouts before using the template for repeated generation.

## Generate with a saved template

When creating a presentation, choose **Custom**, select the saved template, and continue generation. Review the generated deck to confirm that content fits the selected layouts and that the intended brand system is preserved.
