# v0.9.0-beta release notes

> Highlights, compatibility notes, and known limitations

Released on July 13, 2026.

## Highlights

* Improved the Template v2 creation and editing workflow.
* Added additional standard template editing capabilities, including chart, table, text, font, and chat-assisted editing work.
* Improved presentation grid and slide handling behavior.
* Improved Docker Compose and server startup behavior.

## Bug fixes and improvements

* Improved Markdown, chart, table-cell, image-generation error, and text-edit handling.
* Added warnings for template generation with models that do not support vision.
* Improved persistence of the selected model in settings.

## Breaking changes

Older presentation and template endpoint implementations were removed or replaced during the Template v2 transition. Validate integrations against the [v0.9.0-beta API reference](/open-source/v0.9.0-beta/api-reference/introduction) before upgrading.

## Upgrade notes

* Pin `ghcr.io/presenton/presenton:v0.9.0-beta`.
* Back up the mounted `/app_data` directory before replacing an older container.
* Re-test custom templates and API integrations after upgrading.

## Known limitations

* This is a beta release.
* The Cloud v3 API is not included in Open Source.
