# Create your first presentation

> Generate, edit, and export your first self-hosted presentation.

Complete [the Docker installation](/open-source/v0.9.0-beta/quickstart) and connect a text provider before starting.

## Create the deck

  <Step title="Open the creation page">
    Open Presenton and start a new presentation.

  <Step title="Describe the outcome">
    Enter a prompt that names the audience and goal:

    > Create a six-slide educational presentation for new managers explaining how to give useful weekly feedback. Include a simple framework and a final checklist.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose basic settings">
    Select the slide count and language. In advanced settings, keep the tone educational and content density concise or standard.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate the outline">
    Continue to the outline, then read every slide title in order. Remove repetition and make sure the final slide gives the audience a clear next step.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a template">
    Open the template gallery and select a design that fits the audience.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate the presentation">
    Wait for the editor to open with the completed slide list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Edit one slide manually">
    Select a text object and shorten it. Move or resize an object only if the slide needs better balance.

  <Step title="Try the AI assistant">
    Ask for one focused improvement:

    > Make slide 4 easier to scan. Preserve the feedback framework exactly.

    Download a PPTX, open it, and confirm the text, images, and layout look correct.
