Prepare the PowerPoint file

Use a filled deck with real examples—not an empty placeholder template. Include the layout types you want Presenton to use later and remove near-duplicates.

Build the template

1

Open Standard templates

From the dashboard, open Standard, choose All Templates, then select Create New Template.
2

Upload the PPTX

Select the source file in Template Studio.
3

Check fonts

Let Presenton identify the fonts. Upload any missing font files, then continue to the slide preview.
4

Review the preview

Check text wrapping, spacing, and alignment. Resolve font problems before generating layouts.
5

Generate the template

Start generation and wait for the source slides to become reusable layouts and blocks.
6

Inspect every layout

Confirm that titles, body text, images, charts, and other editable regions were understood correctly. Test realistic short and long content.
7

Fix weak layouts

Edit an element, adjust the expected content, or reconstruct a layout when its structure is incorrect.
8

Save and name the template

Use a name that makes the audience or brand obvious in the template library.
9

Generate a test presentation

Create a short deck with the new template and export a PPTX. Confirm that the result remains editable and visually consistent.
Ten distinct, well-built source layouts are usually more useful than dozens of cosmetic variations.
